*Winks* Wait no, lets not go there.

Really? I thought leaf blowers were the closest thing to 'exhaling' vacuums Question

How much power can you get from a spring-powered mechanism? I would have thought not a lot unless you're using very heavy springs and some extremely strong quick-release system.

Sounds like a fun project though, be sure to post pictures of the guns in development!

I was going to use a relatively weak spring, but a super long one which would extend LONGER than the barrel, but has a stopper to keep it from flying out of the barrel.

Sounds right, but what do you stop it with and how do you reload it to fire again?

The stopper is an arm that extends out the Back of the barrel. To reload I just pull it back, which would lock it in place until I pulled the trigger.

Visualy in my head, that looks like the old Nerf guns where you pulled a plastic head from the back of the barrel, load your sticky dart, then fire.

But the idea of the spring extending out of the barrel (Also may catch on something if to long could pose a problem), wouldn't that effect the painballs' accuracy in some way?
