Re: F-80 Bearcat (fantasy fighter)
Nice one!
First thing that struck me was the look of it. It doesn't look like any jet that exists in real life, yet looks believable like one. A lot of character.
The handling is okay for a button-controlled plane.
It's still a little wobly like my planes. Perhaps more vertical surfaces'll solve that. However, there's no more space to hide them. The fusalage's very thin. Part of the reason why it looks good I suppose.

Re: F-80 Bearcat (fantasy fighter)
id make it jotstick controlled if i knew how to do it, i do agree its a little wobly i suppose i could edit it. id like to add and autopilot script but i dont know how quite yet. if someone could help me learn how to do it would help out a lot. but me losing my internet didnt help out any because i was in the process of learning. im currently working on a YF-22 Raptor, needs more script, the body is finnished though, very sleek

Re: F-80 Bearcat (fantasy fighter)
Firstly, if you want to make a decent autopilot, you should probably switch to Lua (efintely if you want to start making fly-by-wire systems). Then I'd be happy to help!
About the model:
About the model:
- I don't find it all that wobbly - most planes are like that.
- It's great for a button controlled plane, but it has no yaw
- On your future planes, could you put the core up in the cockpit, so we can use ctrl+f10 view?

Re: F-80 Bearcat (fantasy fighter)
joystick control is easy. i already have a plane uploaded that uses a 2 joystick game controller for pitch/roll and throttle.
its called the R/S-1
(it stands for Race/stunt one)
you could try to rip it from that if you want to.

Re: F-80 Bearcat (fantasy fighter)
The xbox360 controller works perfect for most of my models.
Planes, cars, helicopters, boats, subs. You name it.
It has finicky deadzones though. But I think it's not that big of a problem. On one of my models it was, so I worked some calibration into the code.
If you have Windows 7 then you have the bad luck of not being able to configure your controls.
The default mapping for the controller is this:
_analog(0)=left stick horizontal _analog(1)=left stick vertical
_analog(2)=triggers _analog(3)=right stick hor.
_analog(4)=right stick vert. The D-pad is a joystick-hat.
Buttons are not mapped I'm afraid. Perhaps a joy-to-keyboard program'll help here.
I'll post a tutorial on using joysticks since this question comes up enough and I think I can teach the basics.

The tuturial is up.
It's my first and English is not my primary language. So please bear with me.
It includes a simple model made for using axes.
Hope it helps!
