Hosting a Server? Empty Hosting a Server?

Post by Timothy Ashtön Fri Aug 13, 2010 10:04 pm

Alrighty, Info and few rules to be followed.

Because we are a small community, the people how have join before the date of this topic being posted know about the server maintenance.

To say this first off, we you want to host a server, you MUST announce it ahead of time.
Half a day at least.
Also, you must post your Host PIN and the port number, both can be found by hosting a random server.

[-----------------------------------------]
Start Simulator
Wait until fully loaded
Hit 'TAB'
When pops up, it'll automatically set as Host
Click 'Start'
Your Host PIN will pop up inside 'Host' Box
[-----------------------------------------]

My info, I'll be hosting an hour from now, and 25 hours from this post.

Video Server
174.115.223.112
18035

Happy hosting! cheers

Alright, couple mistakes:

You need the Global IP, findable here.
You also need port forwarding, when using a wireless router.

Would it be OK if i re-wrote this and stickied it, along with other multiplyer information?

Go right ahead and edit it. You admin! xD

Also, I though Global IP and 'Host' Box were the same thing. As well as Port forwarding = 'Port' box. No?

Not quite. If you are directly connected to the web (not through a wireless router), then the "Host" box only shows your local IP. The global IP is the IP of your router - what we need. However, you need to set up port forwarding so that the router knows to pass the RigidChips information on to the computer, and vice-versa.
