What on Earth happened?
This is probably the darkest day for the English Rigid Chips community.
Apparently, IPBfree is done for. Their site has been suspended and all the sites they host, including thousands of forums, had been deleted for good, without any prior notice.
Being one of the more active members, I feel obligated to set up this new site. If you can read this, and you love Rigid Chips, please help me rebuild our community!

Re: What on Earth happened?
We need to come up with a way of getting this place advertised...
Can someone edit the wiki entry?

Re: What on Earth happened?
Any other ideas for advertising? Or shall we just leave it at that and wait?

Re: What on Earth happened?
This is sad.. The last forum was beginning to have more members, and now it's gone..
Can't we get all the files in the last forum?

Re: What on Earth happened?
Someone could make a chip holding a sign online, with a link here
Alright, seriously though, I think there are a few things we should do for this forum.
These could help promote a lively, ordered community, as opposed to are old, decrepit, messy one.

- Keep it tidy: keep the model database sorted. Perhaps release a pack every so often?
- Challenges. We need constant, if not multiple, challenges.
- I'll think of more later[/*]

Re: What on Earth happened?
Hmm, how about instead of coding the models here, we could just post it on the pastebin?
Re: What on Earth happened?
Kedji! You've found us!
I think that both code box and pastebin are acceptable, because we have scrolling code boxes.

You know, that might just be a good idea....

In my view, I'm all for keeping it as tidy as possible, but, once again, in my view, I'm not too sure about packs, hard to hunt through, larger download sizes and so on, but we'll talk about that later.

Excellent idea, I'll start a post in the site news forum asking for challenge suggestions.
I'll think of more later
Get to it man!

Totally agreed.

Re: What on Earth happened?
My idea about packs was mainly for new people: instead of going through many model threads, they could just get the "aircraft pack", for example. We'd just have to keep the pack up to date.

Re: What on Earth happened?
Sorta hard, yet still good.
How will we call the others that were left in the old forums?

Re: What on Earth happened?
I can't believe this...oh well, at least we got a new forum now. But the sad part, I can't work on anything, since something happened to my HP Pavilion notebook. Keyboard sometimes delays, or fails to work, wireless assistant flickers on and of by itself, and the touchpad is frozen, but yet enabled, but isn't functional. It's being checked by my uncle currently, and I'm using the desktop until it gets fixed. He thinks it might be corrupted, but my mom thinks it might be a virus.

Re: What on Earth happened?
It's not good at all. I highly doubt it's a virus, because it happened AFTER I shut it down, and got back on it, after I got back from a visit at one of my mom's friends.

Re: What on Earth happened?
Hey guys, thanks to Juz and Rc's chat room, I found this forum!
@Mugen
I dunno what you should do,maybe back-up your files on some external device, and take you laptop to a place that'll look at your HP.

Re: What on Earth happened?
It's unlikely to be a virus, that's just the instant assumption that is made when something goes wrong with a computer

Also, could you move this discussion to its own thread if you want to continue talking about it, as this thread is for discussion of the switchover to these forums

Re: What on Earth happened?
Well, I think there's some good things about this new forum such as the scrollable code box and this easy quick reply box
Re: What on Earth happened?
We could always put this game on IndieDB, I would happily put it up and maintain it.
